A research guide for photography courses. Great for Ms. Mason's Middle School classes!

Google Image Search

Citing an Image

  • When citing an image from Google, use the URL of the original website that the image is posted. Do not use Google as the source (Google connects you to resources, but it's not a source in itself).

  • MLA format:   Artist’s Last Name, First Name (if any). “Title of the Picture.” Title of the Site, Date, URL. Accessed Date

Don't Plagiarize

What is plagiarism?

“presenting another person’s ideas, information, expressions, or entire work as one’s own” (MLA 8 Handbook)

Tips for avoiding it:
  1. If you didn't come up with it, cite it.
  2. Use NoodleTools or the citation tool on the library resources.
  3. Even if you change the wording, but use the same ideas, you must cite the source you borrowed from.
  4. Any questions, reach out to Mr. Reese (williamreese@hunschool.org) and he will help you out.
Images
  • Same as text--need to cite it.
  • Google image search will help you find where it came from.
